From your words. G:)

Where I write

Sitting in a café

or at a railway station,

writing my poetry

with silent elation;

words don’t always come easy…

to me.

.

In the library,

amongst the books,

scribbling furiously,

dirty looks;

in a car park,

parked up briefly,

transposing poems,

ideas, thoughts,

chiefly to stop them

from becoming lost;

for one lost poem

is a sorry loss,

and I’ve lost a few,

and count the cost.

.

Pop the words

in an order new,

with allegorical takes,

and a colourful hue;

similes, metaphors,

one or two,

pop in some alliteration:

added adjectives always accrue.

.

End with a flourish,

a crescendo will do;

or a full-stop,

grammatically speaking,

and “Goodbye!” “Adieu!”

I write a lot of things in the library, and a lot of those things are currently about the library - I am amassing a collection of library poems, stories, prose that I hope to cobble together into a volume. I also grab moments in cafés, at railway stations, craft festivals, anywhere really. Who knows if something heard or seen will trigger off an idea, but ‘notes’ and ‘Siri’ will capture a brief piece for me to work on if time is not there to sit and write.

Thank you for your words. Grae :)
